What is AWJ Thread?
- The AWJ thread typically has a tapered profile, designed to create a tight, leak-proof seal between the tool joints or between the drill bit and the drill string.
- The taper angle helps with easy makeup (tightening) and breakout (disconnection) while providing a secure and stable connection.
AWJ threads are specifically meant for smaller diameter tools and are different from larger thread connections used for bigger drill pipes, like API REG (Regular) or IF (Internal Flush) threads, which are used in large-diameter and deeper drilling.
